Answer

South Carolina Legal Services provides legal help with civil (not criminal) matters for low-income residents.  The toll-free number for the statewide intake office is (888) 346-5592, and the local number is 744-9430.  The South Carolina Bar has an online legal answers service called SCLawAnswers.org.  If you meet the necessary qualifications, you can submit questions online to be answered by a volunteer lawyer.
