Richland Library has several resources that can help you learn how to use Microsoft Word, Excel and other common computer programs.

Our research tools Learning Express and Lynda have self-paced online tutorials that you can practice at home. Links and details are below.

  • Learning Express: Learning Express includes test preparation material, interactive practice exams and courses covering a variety of topics. Prepare to take the SAT, ACT, GED and other tests. Learn basic computer and internet skills, using essential software applications and navigating the job search process.
  • Lynda for Libraries: Learn new job skills, brush up on a topic you studied long ago or explore something new thanks to the more than 3,500 web-based video courses and step-by-step tutorials available through Lynda for Libraries.

Richland Library also offers computer classes at several locations. To find the current list, go to "Classes and Events" and filter "Event Type" by "computer class." Open the descriptions to see the phone numbers to call to register for a class.

Finally, you can check out books on the subject. We also have Safari Tech Books, a popular online library you can access and read online.
