You can reserve, or hold, a title through the library's website. Richland Library will deliver the item to your closest library and hold it there under your name for 7 days.

To begin, Sign in with your Richland Library card # and PIN. Search for a title in our collection using the search box near the top of our website. If there are no copies available, click Hold. If there are, click Find to see where it is checked in and click Hold to place a hold. Choose a Pick-Up Location and click Hold to complete your request.

Richland Library will pull the requested title for you and notify you when it arrives at your pickup location. We can call, email or text you when your requested title is ready, depending on your account set-up.

If there is no one else waiting then you will get the first available copy. If there is a waiting list then the next available copy will be sent to the next person in line on the waiting list.

It takes a day or two for a checked-in title to travel to another library. If you need a book immediately then you can call the location with the book and ask a staff person to hold it for you.

You can also place holds on ebooks through Libby. You will receive an email or app notification once your ebook is ready for you to download. Sign in to your account on the our Libby website or launch your Libby app to claim and download your hold.

Online requests are a great way to get the most out of your library card!
