You may check out up to 60 items at a time on your Richland Library card. Bring your card or a photo ID to any Richland Library location to browse and check out books. Most books are loaned out for 3 weeks at a time, and can be renewed up to 5 times as long as no one else has requested the title. You can return the book at any Richland Library location, regardless of where you checked it out.

Look for a book in the library's catalog. When you find a title you want to check out, click "Availability" to see if it is checked in and which library has it. All books have a call number or ACCESS code that will let you know where it is in the library, but any staff will be happy to help you locate a book by call number, subject or title.

If a book is not checked in at your closest library, you can place a request on it. We will pull the book and send it to your closest library and hold it there under your name for 5 days. We will notify you once it is ready to be picked up based on the notification preferences you have in your account (phone, email or text).

We also have ebooks available to Richland Library cardholders. Check those out through the library's Libby or hoopla sites or partner apps. You can browse those catalogs at the links provided on our website and check out a book with your Richland Library card number and 4-digit password (usually the last 4 numbers of your home phone number). Once you check out a book, you may download it using a compatible app.
