A Kindle Fire tablet can be loaded with apps that Richland Library card holders may use for reading library eBooks. Search for the Libby or Hoopla apps in your device's app store and follow the steps to install. Then launch the app to search for, borrow, and download eBooks. Richland Library card holders may borrow 20 Libby titles at a time, or 15 hoopla titles per month.

If you have a Kindle e-reader, you may check out Kindle eBooks through the library's Libby website. You can find this link on our home page under Download & Stream. Sign in with your Richland Library card # and PIN. Once you've sign in on Libby, search for an ebook and check it out (or place it on hold). Most ebook titles are available in the Kindle format, but to be sure you can check the listed formats on the detail page for the title. Once you have a title checked out, go to My Account and Loans on the Libby website. Next to the title you will see the option to read on Kindle. Tap that and you will be taken to Amazon. You will be prompted to sign in to your Amazon account and send the title to your Kindle, all in one or two clicks. Then, go to your Kindle library to begin reading. Your Kindle will need to have WiFi enabled to receive the book, so if you don't see it make sure you are connected and you have synced your Kindle.

Your Kindle ebook will expire after 21 days, so there is no need to return it. Should you wish to return it early or send it to a different Kindle, you may do so in your Amazon account in the My Digital Content and Devices page.
